Analysis of multiple media reports about a country
- From the syllabus for Secondary and Grammar
Schools:
According to section 2 of the School Organisation Law, secondary
schools are obliged to take part in educating young people in the
acquisition of knowledge, the development of skills and in passing
on values. In the process, critical reflection and independent thinking
in particular are to be encouraged.
ANALYSIS OF MULTIPLE MEDIA REPORTS ABOUT A
COUNTRY

- Pupils compare media reports about a region (e.g. teaching/school
film, adventure films, travel reports (video), private travel
material, travel guides in book form, travel brochures…).
Where there is a lack of time, excerpts from various materials
can be used instead.
Suggested questions:
- Which presentation was most interesting for you? Why?
- What was emphasised in the various reports?
- How different are they in content? Language?
- Who is the intended target of each of the?
- How much does the target group influence the product? i.e. the design or commentary?
